Thanks for watching my latest travel diary!!

I went on a cruise around the Baltic Sea with my Mom in July 2016, one of our ports of call was St Petersburg, Russia. We stayed there overnight and spent two days in the city and also visiting some of the beautiful suburbs around it.

On the first day we visited the Hermitage Museum (which is absolutely MASSIVE) and did some extra sight-seeing (we saw the Astoria hotel, where Hitler was going to celebrate after taking Leningrad, which never actually happened ((or something like that, I can't remember exactly, please correct me if I'm wrong)).)
Later that evening we visited Catherine's Palace which was stunning, especially by night. We enjoyed some entertainment (including a small string ensemble!!) and a traditional Russian meal, which included champagne, vodka AND an option of wine :O. I watched the sunset from the coach window, and filmed a couple of clips back on the ship too, as you can see. The sunset over St Petersburg that night is the prettiest I've seen.

The next day we went on a river cruise, saw a few more cathedrals and visited the Peterhov palace, which was, for me, the highlight of visiting St Petersburg. Everything was very bright and colourful (lots of gold) and there was a fountain display, complete with music, outside after our tour. Also, we saw some baby seagulls, that was pretty cool.

We were taken through the city by a fabulous guide, Natasha. She told us all about Russian Aristocracy and about modern life in Russia too.

(also, on the second day we saw some stray dogs, but mom wouldn't let me bring any home
